The World Press Photo Contest, the pinnacle of global photojournalism and documentary photography, highlights the year’s most impactful visual stories, fostering a deeper understanding of pressing global issues. Founded in 1955, the contest annually attracts millions worldwide, with the exhibition touring over 60 cities across more than 40 countries. This prestigious event not only showcases exceptional photography but also bridges diverse narratives, promoting mutual understanding through accurate and high-quality visual storytelling.
This year, the 67th World Press Photo Exhibition makes its highly anticipated return to London, setting the stage at Borough Yards in the heart of London Bridge’s vibrant cultural scene. With 61,062 entries from 3,581 photographers spanning 130 countries, the contest’s rigorous selection process culminates in revealing regional winners on 3rd April 2024, and global winners on 18th April, before opening its doors on 3rd May. The exhibition promises a profound journey into the realms of narrative impact, illuminated by the formidable skills and often daring endeavors of photographers at the vanguard of global photojournalism.
